What is a BEST Course?
Throughout the whole year, BEST organizes different activities where students of technology from member universities get the chance to complement their fields of study, discuss educational matters, learn and take their first steps into an international career, increase their international experience, set up contacts, improve their English level and have fun. Each BEST event is attended by 20-30 engineering and technology students like you, who have something in common: they want to live a unique experience, different from day-to-day school life! In these events, participants attend lectures given by the university’s teaching staff or by experts from companies. At the end of the course, students take an exam, which is designed to evaluate the participants’ success.
- Complement your knowledge in different fields of study
- Visit companies, industrial plants, and research centers

Future Materials: Beyond Dimensions
12.07.2024 – 19.07.2024
Get ready for a mind-bending adventure in the heart of Ljubljana, Slovenia, as we unveil the “Future Materials: Beyond Dimensions” course this summer! Dive into the mysterious world of material science and its mind-boggling applications, all inspired by the Stranger Things series – where scientific experiments meet supernatural forces, just without the demogorgons (we promise).
Picture yourself surrounded by Slovenia’s enchanting natural beauty, the kind that makes you question if you accidentally stumbled into the Upside Down. From the majestic Julian Alps to the turquoise waters of Lake Bled, Slovenia is like the demogorgon of hidden European gems – just waiting to be discovered!
Embrace Slovene culture as we explore the science behind materials, because, much like Stranger Things, there’s more to it than meets the eye. Let your curiosity run wild as you ponder: Are these materials stranger than Eleven’s telekinetic abilities? Can we engineer materials as versatile as the demogorgon’s teleportation skills?
Ljubljana, with its charming medieval architecture and lively atmosphere, sets the stage for an unforgettable learning experience. Slovenians, much like the resilient characters of Stranger Things, pride themselves on a rich culture that blends tradition with a touch of the unexpected.
So, pack your bags, join us in Ljubljana, and let’s unravel the mysteries of Future Materials – because here in Slovenia, the only stranger thing is how you haven’t visited yet!
